Once we move into Alert Level 3 on Tuesday 28 April, one of the permitted activities is moving between regions for the purpose of home or business relocation. Therefore, if your settlement date is on or after 28 April, you are able to settle.
However, you should firstly consider:
the ability to conduct a pre-purchase inspection
the availability of moving companies
whether a later settlement date is more convenient for both parties and can be agreed
If your original settlement date has passed and you have already agreed to extend until a certain number of working days after the COVID-19 Alert Level has been reduced to Level 2 or below, then you may now be able to settle earlier, if agreed to by both parties. However, the above mentioned points may influence your decision.
